Patsy Ruth Morris

Patsy Ruth Morris, 88, of Fort Smith, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018. She was born on June 28, 1930 in Fort Smith to Charlie and Ina (Atchison) Carter. She loved to roller skate, dance, water ski, was an avid bowler, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star of Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Harvey Henderson; third husband, Eugene Morris; her son, John C. Settle; her parents, Charlie and Ina Carter; and her sister, Juanita Jones.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oak Cemetery, both under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

She is survived by her son, Robert “Bob” Settle and wife Terry of Fort Smith; her sister, Peggie Branham & husband Melvin of Spiro, OK; three grandsons, Kevin Settle & wife Terri of Fort Smith, Jeremy Settle & wife Genevia of Torrance, CA, and Daniel Settle & wife Elizabeth of Bentonville, AR; five great grandchildren, Katie, Caleb, Rachel, Austin and Ethan Settle; her first husband, R. L. “Bob” Settle of Fort Smith; and her beloved dog, Joy.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Nathan Griffin.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
