Paul R. Lemieux

Paul Robert Lemieux, 93, of Frisco, Texas, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away Monday, July 19, 2026, at his home. He was born January 24, 1933, in Lowell, Massachusetts to the late Armand and Yvonne (Croteau) Lemieux. Paul served his country in the U.S. Army and was of the Catholic faith. He was a Mechanical Engineer for Norton Company in Worcester, Massachusetts, which took him all over the world building manufacturing plants, most notably Poland and Australia. His last project was in Fort Smith where he was to build a proppant manufacturing plant. After the project was complete, Paul stayed on to run the operation. In short order, an expansion was warranted and he gathered a team of engineers that worked for him numerous times on his overseas projects; ready and willing to move cross-country to work with him once again. Paul was a key contributor to the partnership between Norton Company and the Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa) to become Norton-Alcoa Proppants. Always forward-thinking, when retirement came, he moved to Texas for their retiree advantages, ease of access to healthcare, and most importantly to year-round weather for golf. He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (MEA), the Stonebriar Men’s Golf Association, and the Fianna Hills Men’s Golf Association.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Paula Lemieux of the home; his daughter, Gail Wallace of Watsonville, California; two sons, Allan Lemieux and wife Debbie of Rockledge, Florida, and Steve Lemieux of Plantsville, Connecticut; and his stepson, Randal Statham of Bokoshe, Oklahoma. He is also survived by six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and many respectful admirers of his talents and personality.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Spiro City Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma.
