Paul A. Rhodes

Paul A. Rhodes, 93, of Fort Smith, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at a local hospital. He was born June 7, 1917 in Fort Smith to the late John and Jennie Ross Rhodes. He was a retired salesman for Williams Automotive, member and Deacon of Oak Cliff Baptist Church, former member of Calvary Baptist Church and an Army Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Verma and two brothers Lawrence and Ross Rhodes.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday, October 8, 2010, at Oak Cliff Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Whitten and Dr. Kent Sweatman officiating. Interment will be at National Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

He is survived by two nephews Larry Rhodes and wife Betty of Fort Smith and William Ross Rhodes, II and wife Judy of Lewisville, TX, one brother-in-law Vernie Osborn of Springfield, MO, a host of friends and Christian brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Jim Deaver, Steve Almond, Tom Sallis, Darrell Taylor, Jimmy Cox and Larry Biggs. Honorary pallbearers will be all the other Deacons at Oak Cliff Baptist Church.

Viewing will be at Oak Cliff Baptist Church from 12:00 Noon until service time Friday.
