Peggy Geren

Peggy Green, 87, of Barling, AR, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026. She was born on September 7, 1939, in Branch, AR to the late Charlie McAlpin and Ella Lusk McAlpin. She was retired from GMAC, member of both the Ladies VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She was of the Baptist faith. Peggy was part of a re-enactment organization known as the Bicentennial Women, who in 1976 went to Washington D.C. for the Bicentennial celebration dressed in period clothing from that era. In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Geren.

She is survived by two sons: William Roberts, (Debra) of Lavaca, AR and James Roberts, (Angela) of Barling, AR; two grandchildren: Brittany Becker (Stephen) and Ian Roberts (Songka); six great grandchildren: Jaxon Roberts, Macaela Parga, Adalyn Becker, Emma Roberts, Owen Becker and Elena Roberts.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Edwards Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday, September 25, 2026, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
