Peggy Jeffrey Hinds-Baker, 92, of Fort Smith, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026. She was born on February 25, 1934, in Newport, AR to the late William Donald Jeffrey and Willie Mae Jeffrey. Peggy retired from Cooper Clinic, where was a receptionist in the Pediatric department. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, and a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Thomas Eugene Hinds and John C. Baker, Sr.
She is survived by three daughters, Marcia Flocks of Claremore, OK, Nanci Hinds-Bartlett (Paul) of Springdale, AR, and Ann Grimes (Dennis) of Fort Smith; her sons, Robert Hinds of Wichita, KS and John C. Baker, Jr. (Jamie) of Aurora, CO. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Dr. Lindsay Mae Chandler (Nate), C.J. Flocks (Jenna), Ivie Belle Bartlett (Jack), Shelby Ann Warren (Austin), Dylan Grimes, Harper Hinds, Haven Hinds, and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Edwards Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
