When our son Jimmy was little, probably 3 or 4, we went to the Ft Smith airport to watch the Thunder Birds at the air show.
When the planes took off, they circled back around and flew right over the top of us. The noise was extremely loud and it scared Jimmy so much. He literally climbed up his Uncle Rick like he was a tree and was even trying to climb on top of his head to get away from the noise. Rick held onto him and calmed him down. Even at that young of an age, Jimmy knew his Uncle Rick would protect him and love him.
Rick was a great uncle and man.

I am so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. I read the paper too late to attend the rosary or funeral but know that I am just devastated for you and the kids. My heart is breaking for you and I am here if you need anything.

Rick was a good man. He was quiet, soft spoken and had the patience of a saint. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and I can't begin to count how many projects he helped the family with or did alone to help us out. He was the brother that neither myself nor Jim ever had. He was also a great uncle to Jimmy.
He was a great dad. Patient, caring and loving and when they were younger, often worked long hours to provide for them so Allene could be a stay home mother.
But what I am most proud and thankful for is his abundance of love for Allene. He was a calming force in her life and was totally dedicated to providing for her in every way. He had her spoiled rotten and for that, I am extremely thankful. They were truly soulmates.
We will miss you.

I had the privilege of working on numerous GP projects over the years with Rick, he had this quiet calming effect during meetings but when he spoke it was very obvious that he was a very wise man. I know I speak for everyone here at ORT Tool & Die Corp when I say we will miss him as a knowledgeable professional mechanic but most of all as a dear friend.

We send our sincere condolences to his family and pray for their comfort during this difficult time.

My condolences to the family of Rick.
I was very saddened when I heard the terrible news of his passing.
Just wanted to reach out to you and let you know how much I enjoyed working with Rick over the years at GP. We worked on many different projects together and it was always pleasurable when Rick was involved, because of both his calm demeanor and extensive knowledge.
He will be missed!
Sorry for your loss,

Oh my dear sweet Uncle Rick you will be missed more than you will ever know! We are all so terribly heartbroken to lose such a wonderful man from our lives. So many wonderful memories with you and although I am so sad today I am beyond thankful for the 37 years I was lucky enough to have you as my Uncle! One of my favorite memories with you may be one no one else even knows.....but one Christmas Celebration at your house, I was really young maybe not even a teenager yet, but I was sick with a sore throat and you were sneaking peppermints to me all evening! I remember you telling me like it was yesterday just don't tell the other kids and I never did until now! I must have eaten 15 peppermints that evening but I remember how special it made me feel that you were trying to help me feel better and we had a silly little secret that I was the only kid that got the peppermints! :) Lord only knows you could have been feeding all of us kids peppermints but to me it was only me and it meant so much! I will forever love and miss you!
To the whole family, but especially Aunt Allene, Jennifer, Keith, Hailey, and Logan, you are all in our hearts and prayers today and in the days ahead. I know it will be a long road ahead, but a road I hope you all know none of you have to travel alone.....we will all be here for you any time day or night and I love you all so dearly.
Until we meet again, enjoy your new Heavenly Home Uncle Rick
