

Son of Lottie Faye and Victory Stephen Grizzle, he was born on August 31, 1954 in Fort Smith, AR. He graduated from Pocola High School in 1972. He received a baseball scholarship to attend Westark College and went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After graduation, he worked alongside his dad at Vic’s Tire in Fort Smith until his dad retired, and he became the owner. Over the years, his customers became like family, and he worked faithfully for almost 50 years until a few months before his passing.
He was preceded to heaven by his mother, father, oldest sister, Georgia, aunts, uncles, and grandparents: Stephen and Harriet (Gregory) Grizzle, and Malvern and Ada Belle King. He is survived by his wife, Sherrie Grizzle of Fort Smith, AR; their children: Bradley Grizzle of Kansas City, MO and wife Jennifer, Nicole Talbott of Dallas, TX and husband Chris, Emily Steininger of Van Buren, AR and husband Jacob, Brian Grizzle of Fayetteville, AR and wife Megan, and Brandon Grizzle of Fort Smith, AR; Eight grandchildren and another on the way; sisters Barbara Humphreville of Bentonville, AR and husband Tom, Kathy Coleman of Austin, TX and husband Eddie; brother John Grizzle Sr. of Pocola, OK as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Rick was a deeply beloved husband, father, uncle, cousin, brother, grandfather, and friend. He passed a few short months after battling metastatic cancer. He loved his college alma mater, OSU, and cheered them on in football and basketball for many years. He also loved flying airplanes and shared this love with one of his sons who became a pilot. He loved to travel with his wife and spend his free time loving on his grandchildren. He was a faithful member of Hope Fellowship church for 40 years. He was a devoted husband to his one and only lifelong sweetheart for almost 50 years. He was a solid rock and anchor for many family and friends who were blessed to know him. He left a precious legacy to his kids and grandkids that was filled with selfless Christ-centered love, devotion to a life of intercessory prayer, faithfulness, kindness, generosity, and a pillar of steadfast faith in Christ all of his life. He also loved to encourage and pray for the customers who frequented his business.
The visitation will be held at Edwards Funeral Home from 5-7pm on November 11th located at 201 N. 12th St, Fort Smith, AR 72901. The memorial service will be at 2pm on November 12th located at Hope Fellowship Church 2203 Hendricks Blvd, Fort Smith, AR 72903 with Pastor Craig Smith officiating. The burial service will be at Macedonia Cemetery 1002 Karl Ave, Pocola, OK 74902 with Jody Grizzle officiating following the memorial service. Pallbearers will be his nephews Jody Grizzle, John Grizzle Jr., Shelton Rogers, Shawn Rogers, and sons-in-law Chris Talbott, and Jacob Steininger. All flowers will be sent to Edwards Funeral Home.
