He was an Army Vietnam veteran, and he loved gardening, fishing, and working on family genealogy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Ernest Hunter; his sister, Linda Hunter; his brother Jerry Hunter; and his niece, Logan LaRoche.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his brother, Ed Hunter of Fort Smith; his sister, Becky Tidwell of Fort Smith; and several nieces and nephews that he considered as his own children.
