Robert had three great loves in his life: his wife Doris, his family, and the Lord. Because his love for the Lord overflowed into every part of his life, he lived with remarkable humility and generosity. His greatest joy was creating something meaningful that would help another person feel seen, remembered, and loved. He painted scenes of God’s creation, carved personalized wooden gifts, and crafted leather wallets, all to give away. He delighted in sharing a joke or a story that might make someone’s day a little bit better. Robert was content, joyful, and consistently willing to help anyone in need.
He was a faithful member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church for nearly fifty years, where he served as a deacon, and deeply loved the people with whom he worshiped alongside. Robert also cherished his work family at Baldor Electric, where he was employed for an extraordinary 63 years.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Floyd Pullen and Theodore Pullen; and his sisters, Betty (Pullen) Jones and Lois (Pullen) Cisco.
He leaves behind his cherished wife of 66 years, Doris Linda (Kelley) Pullen; his three sons, Mike, Alan, and Joseph (Katy); and two grandchildren, Stephen Scot Pullen and Grace Kathryn Pullen. He is also survived by his siblings Doris Jenkins, Joan Mabry, and Daryl Pullen. Robert was blessed with a large extended family, beloved church members, former coworkers, and countless friends gathered along the way who will dearly miss his encouraging words, gentle spirit, and sense of humor.
