Rodney Kay Shalley

Rod Shalley, 73, passed away January 9, 2011 in Fort Smith, AR. He was born May 18, 1937 in Estelline South Dakota, to Ray and Clara Hansen Shalley. Rod was retired from The Whirlpool Corporation where he was an electrician. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, was a lifetime member of The N.R.A., and was a member of the Whirlpool Union.

He is survived by his wife; Louanna of Fort Smith, 3 daughters; Jody Pierce and husband Mark, of Akeny, Iowa, Deanna Sweeton and husband Mike, of Fort Smith, and Donna Moen and husband Matt, of Vermillion, South Dakota, 2 sons; Bill Williams and wife Judy, of Pocola, OK and Doug Shalley and his wife Lori of Pengilly, Minnesota, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 14, 2011 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Parks Cemetery in Charleston, AR.

Pallbearers will be: Bill Williams, Doug Shalley, Charles, Joel, Marvin, and Martin Stout.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Leroy Branham, Neal Catlet, Cleave Linam, Bill Baker, Tommy Francis, and Dick Dickson.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
