Ronald R. Kear, 64, of Fort Smith, died April 18, 2014 in Fort Smith. He was born March 19, 1950 in Fort Smith to Isaac and Joyce Fern Russell Kear. He was a retired insurance salesman for Farmers Insurance, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, an Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow. He is survived by his wife Susan Kear of the Home; two daughters, Amy Carter and husband Jason of Fort Smith and Cara Hickey of Fort Smith; two sons, Jeff Kear and wife Stephanie of Springdale, AR and Jeff Hickey and fiancée Megan Burden of Fort Smith; parents, Neual and Fern Hobbs of Springdale, AR; one sister Patsy Stevens of Kansas City, KS; two brothers, Gene Hobbs of Farmington, AR and Roy Hobbs of Springdale, AR; and five grandchildren, Caleigh Carter, Tiffany, Taylor, and Tanner Kear, and Kasyn McKuen. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the St. Paul United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jeff Kear, Jason Carter, Ronnie Barter, Jerry Tomlin, Michael Smith and Steve Kolb. The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5-7 PM.
