Ronald M. Kupers, 78, of Fort Smith passed from this life August 15, 2018, in Fort Smith. He was born April 8th, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Edward and Frances (Praissman) Kupers. Ronald was a retired CPA who spent the bulk of his career working for the New York Times and then, in private practice with his beloved wife, Sylviah, after he retired from the NYT.
For many years, Ronald was active in the Scimitar Shrine Temple where he was a past potentate and also was active in the Scottish Rite. Ronald enjoyed visiting with friends and family, volunteering and traveling all over the country with Sylviah.
He is survived by his three sons, David C Kupers and his wife Sherry, Jeffrey G Kupers and William J. Kupers; three brothers, Terry Kupers, M.D., Jeffrey Kupers and Kay Kohler, and Larry Kupers and Lanell Horton; two granddaughters, Sydney and Clair; and five grandsons, Chad, Kendell, Seth, Eddie, and Luke. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylviah; his brother, Phillip; and his sister, Carol.
Viewing and visitation will be Monday August 20th at 9am with a chapel service to follow at 10am at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Burial will be at 11am at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. Service is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
