Ronald Eugene Nicodemus, 71, of Fort Smith, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2026. He was born on August 18, 1955, in Fort Smith to the late John T. Nicodemus and Helen Quinones Nicodemus.
Ronald was a hardworking man who took pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He retired from Nicodemus Sheet Metal, where he worked as a skilled sheet metal fabricator, leaving his craftsmanship behind on homes throughout Fort Smith.
Above all, Ronald was a devoted father, grandfather, husband, and friend. He had a big heart and a generous spirit, and he was always willing to help others in any way he could. He worked hard to provide for the people he loved and made sure his family was taken care of. To those closest to him, he was more than a father and a provider; he was someone they could count on, someone who showed his love through his actions, and someone whose presence made a difference in their lives. He was a truly great man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home; his daughter, Rachael Owens and husband Joshua, of Spiro, Oklahoma; his son, David Nicodemus, of Rudy, Arkansas; his stepdaughter, Teresa Newton, of Fort Smith; and his two brothers, Bobby Nicodemus and his wife, Debbie, of Rogers, Arkansas, and Joe Nicodemus and his wife, Sue, of Springdale, Arkansas.
He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Cameron Ezell-Nicodemus, Alex Gray, Isabel Nicodemus, Mason Owens, Reed Owens, and Harper Owens; seven step-grandchildren: Leanne, Hillarie, Hannah, Payton, Jake, Abigail, and Seth; and three step-great-grandchildren: Atlas, William, and Fable.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda; his granddaughter, Lilah Grace Owens; and his stepson, Brian Holstead.
Pallbearers will be Allyn Donaubauer, Dennis Kennedy, Steve Griffin, Jack Hopkins, John Langham, and Greg Nichols.
Ronald was a member of Community Bible Church and served as Past President of the Jaycees.
