

After graduating from New Albany High School in 1946, Rose attended Nazareth College in Louisville, Kentucky. She was an active member of Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority. Rose spent her entire professional career in retail as a buyer and bridal consultant for several major department stores, including the Boston Store and Dillards. In retirement Rose volunteered as a guide at Miss Laura's Visitor Center and in the gift shop at Sparks Hospital.
Rose was an avid bridge player, an accomplished seamstress, and a talented painter of china and jewelry. She instilled a love of travel, movies, and musical theater in her daughters. Rose particularly enjoyed attending Broadway productions, and her favorite travel experience was a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Italy. Rose was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Sartain, her brother Patrick Condon, her granddaughter Danielle Miller, and her son-in-law William Harding.
She is survived by her brother Robert Condon (Charlotte) of Columbus, Indiana, her daughters Patty Harding of Fort Smith, Diane Miller (Harry) of Fort Smith, and Donna Grimes (Steven) of Plano, Texas. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren Mariah, Robin, Breanna, Megan Katherine, Lindsay, Patrick and Megan Elaine, eleven great grandchildren, a nephew, and three nieces.
