Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph in 2012, both parents, brothers, Nathan, Jr., Dwight, Carroll, Donald, Charles and Norman, as well as sisters, Naomi Elizabeth and Virginia Lauderdale.
She is survived by daughter Kathy (Floyd) Arrington of Newton, KS, son David Lowry and Billy Schultz of Fort Smith, AR, and brother, Malcolm (Melinda) of Hot Springs Village, AR, grandchildren, Erica (Erik Mason of Maize, KS, Tyler (Christina) Arrington of Newton, KS, Elizabeth (Jeremy) Wallace of Wichita, KS, and great grandchildren, McKenna Luna, Brylne, and Chandler Mason of Maize, KS, Chloe, Colin and Ian Arrington of Newton, KS, Brody and Landon Wallace of Wichita, KS and Destiny Arrington of Newton, KS.
Rosemary grew up in Gravette, AR where he father practiced law until moving to Wichita, where she attended Roosevelt Intermediate, East High and North High (class of 1948). She was active in 4H club, Jr. Red Cross and Methodist youth Fellowship, attending a world youth conference in Cleveland in 1947. Throughout her life, she was a secretary for a cosmetic buyer at Innes; secretary to treasurer for Wichita Bank for Coops; an instructor and model for Patrician Stevens and a wedding coordinator for over 200 weddings. Rosemary and Ralph were high school sweethearts married for 63 years before his death. He was the owner of Ralph Lowry Aircraft Sales in Newton, KS.
They enjoyed flying on golf vacations with friends. She played in many golf tournaments and they were members of several bridge clubs. When a young couple, they were members of a newly formed young married couples “Double Ring” Sunday School Class in 1954 at First United Methodist Church.
Rosemary was an accomplished artist, showing in Salina, Newton, Hays, Hutchinson, Wichita, and at the Kansas State Fair. She attended workshops in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Bethel College and locally, working in oils, watercolor, acrylics, and pastels. She traveled to 9 European countries.
She was President of United Methodist Women as well as various District and Conference boards. Rosemary was a member of Epsilon Alpha, Sororis Club, Cornelian, 20th Century Club, League of Women Voters, Wichita Children’s Theatre Troupers, The Wichita Art Association Serendipity Club, Wichita Women Artists, and two ladies golf clubs. She was a CASA volunteer and served on Youthville and Salvation Army boards.
Rosemary was an active member of Christian Women’s Club, she led bible studies for fifteen years and shared her testimony at clubs in Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Arkansas and Oklahoma. She also shared her collections of Angels and Hats at women’s groups.
For the last 7 years of her life, Rosemary moved to Fort Smith, AR to be closer to her son David. She happily resided at Butterfield (Morada) Retirement Community where she made many wonderful friendships.
Memorial Service will be held Monday, December 18th 2023 at 2:00pm, at First United Methodist Church, 330 N Broadway St, Wichita, KS.
