Ruth Howe

Ruth Howe, 83, of Fort Smith, died April 18, 2012 in Fort Smith. She was born February 11, 1929 in Dunbar, Nebraska to Allan William and Ruby Glyde Allen Walker. She was owner/operator of Mrs. Howe’s Preschool for 50 years where she touched many young lives in the Fort Smith area. She was a member of PEO and Goddard United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Margie and husband Craig Bootenhoff of Dillon, CO; grandson, Slater Bootenhoff of Durango, CO; and one sister in law, Jeanne Howe of Ashville, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas W. Howe and sister, Norma Dea Bremer.

Memorial service will be Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Goddard United Methodist Church. Burial in the U.S. National Cemetery on Thursday as well will be 10:00 AM all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM.
