Scott Abell

Scott Abell, 82, of Fort Smith, died May 12, 2014 in Fort Smith. He was born January 18, 1932 in Ashland, Ohio to Scott and Lynna Abell. He was retired from the Whirlpool Corp as the H. R. Director, and was a member of the East Side Baptist Church where he formerly served as Church Administrator. He served on the Board of St. Edward Mercy Medical Center, he was a 32 Degree Mason, a member of Rotary International, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and card player. He is survived by two sons, Steve and wife Jane Abell of Little Rock, AR and James Abell of Fort Smith; and one grandson, Stephen Abell of Little Rock, AR. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, and one son Scott E. “Chip” Abell. Memorial service will be Friday, May 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
