

Stephen Faye “Steve” Turner, 67, of Fort Smith, AR died July 4, 2017 in his home surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born in Lonoke, AR on October 29, 1949 to George W. Turner and Fonie H. Spears Turner. He was a maintenance supervisor and veteran of the U.S. Army serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 467 and of the American Legion Post 0031.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Turner; and his three children, Jamie and husband Glenn Bergstrom of Fort Smith, Micheal and wife Michelle Turner of Lavaca, and Shawno and wife Jennifer Turner of Barling; eight grandchildren, Jessica Bergstrom, Michelle West, Mikey Turner, Taylor Turner, Cassie Claudio, Hunter Turner, Colton Turner, and Kaden Turner; and one great grandchild, Kion Jamerson; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Fonie Turner; one sister, Audie Harris; and three brothers, Johnny Turner, Bud Turner, and Norman Turner.
Graveside service will be Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the U.S. National Cemetery of Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 2-4 PM.
