Steven McDonald

Steven Wayne McDonald, 62, of Fort Smith, AR, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. He was born on January 28, 1964, in Millington, TN. Steven was the owner of Tri-State Automotive Equipment. He was of the Christian faith. Steven loved hunting, fishing, entertaining, and playing pool; but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Steven enjoyed hosting big gatherings to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and family events and especially enjoyed having his children and grandchildren over for large, boisterous gatherings filled with food, fun, and lots of laughter. Steven was known for his caring and generous nature and for his willingness to welcome people into his home, who may have needed a little help and guidance. Steven is preceded in death by his daughter, Falisha McDonald; a son, Jeremy Lee Travis, and his mother, Shirley Ann McDonald.

He is survived by his wife Jo Anne, of the home; three daughters, Michelle Coy, (Terry) of Sallisaw, OK, Stacy Richerson, (Tron), of Sallisaw, OK, and Cara Sonnier (J.P.) of Fort Smith; three sons, Michael McDonald, (Ashley) of Spiro, OK, Cory Travis of Fort Smith, and David McDonald, (Emily) of Fort Smith; his father, David Wayne McDonald of Palatka, FL; a sister, Debbie Carter, (Jeff) of Palatka, FL and a brother, Christopher McDonald of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm Monday, September 28, 2026, at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 North 12th St, Fort Smith. A Celebration of Life for Steven will follow from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Creekmore Community Center’s Rose Room at 3301 South M St, Fort Smith.
