

Inez Lewis, 94, of Barling, passed away on August 11, 2011 at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. She was born on September 9, 1916 in Franklin County to James Monroe and Julia Ann Wear Beason. Mrs. Lewis lived most of her life in Fort Smith where she and her husband were avid bowler’s for over sixty years. She was a member of South Side Baptist Church and recently lived at Mercy Crest Retirement Home in Barling, AR.
She is survived by her daughters, Aleece Craig of Fort Smith and Judy Beth Brewster of Wylie, Texas; her son, Jack Lewis, Jr. of Paris, AR; six grandchildren, Eddy Craig and wife Kim of Fort Smith, Alan Craig and John Craig both of Fort Smith, Beth Edge of Farmersville, TX., Lisa Brewster and husband Nat Geissel of Coralville, Iowa and Wade Brewster and wife Lorie of Arlington, TN; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jack Lewis, Sr.; her parents; and two brothers, Clethan and Elmo Beason.
Private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in the Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends on Monday evening from 5:30 – 7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
