

Theodora (Teddi) Lahoma Sockey, 81, of Muldrow, died February 11, 2014 in Fort Smith. She was born July 20, 1932 in Liberty, Oklahoma to the late Jacob and Viola Moquett Holt. Teddi taught school in Oklahoma, Kansas and California, but later operated Teddi-Gene Furniture in Muldrow, with her husband Gene. An active member at First Baptist Church in Fort Smith, she volunteered in the church library and was always an ardent witness and testifier for her Lord and Savior. Teddi was a goal setter and achiever who knew what she wanted, yet maintained her loving and gentle nature. She will always be known as a wonderful and positive inspiration to all. She is survived by her husband, Gene; three step children, Phyllis Wolfe and her husband David Wallace of Rockville, Maryland, Charles Sockey and his wife Barbara of Potomac Falls, Virginia and Lisa Walker and her husband Harding of American Fork, Utah; five step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren and her sister Cleda Robinson of Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday, February 14, 2014 at Fort Smith First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Charles Sockey, R.L. “Junior” Sockey, Larry Sockey, Darral Sparkman, Leon Phillips, and Jessie Bishop. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Steven Sockey, Harding Walker, Craig Walker, and Alan Walker. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Edwards Funeral Home.
