Theresa Elizabeth Connor, 78, of Fort Smith, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022. She was born on October 15, 1944 in Newcastle, Pennsylvania to the late Robert Sr. and Anne McVicker. Theresa was a retired teaching professor at George Mason University in Virginia and a fresh water ecologist. Her credentials included a doctorate in environmental science and public policy. Theresa was of the Roman Catholic faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, David McVicker.
There will be a memorial service at a later date, cremation arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert Connor; a daughter, Malizza Gaines (Ric) of Fort Smith; two sons, Anthony Connor of Fort Smith and Christofor Connor of Huntington, AR; two sisters, Barbara McVicker of Newcastle, PA and Janice Harrison (Harry) of Youngstown, OH; a brother, Robert McVicker, Jr. of Newcastle, PA, along with six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
