Thomas J. Forrest

Thomas J. Forrest, 77, of Fort Smith, died September 17, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was born December 4, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa to Clyde L. and Clara DeMuth Forrest. He moved to Arkansas in 1939, and he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1953. He remained in the Washington, D.C. area and retired from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority after 39 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife Betty of the home; one daughter Charlene Thomas of Front Royal, Virginia; two sisters, Patricia A. McConnell of Dale City, Virginia and Peggy L. Simpson and husband Dhale of Glendale, CA; two brothers, Bill and wife Geri Forrest of Albany, Oregon and Terry Forrest of Cape Canaveral, Florida; step son, Michael Fry of Frisco, TX; three grandchildren, David, Ashley, and Amy of Front Royal, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Forrest of Houston, TX. Funeral service will be Friday, September 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Goddard United Methodist Church. Cremation will take place following the service, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Adventures Sunday School Class of Goddard United Methodist Church.
