Tom was born to Parker and Dorothy 'Dot' Seaton (nee Wooton) on December 13, 1935, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Tom lettered in basketball in high school and also joined the Navy Reserves.
After graduating from Hartford High School, Tom went to California to work construction with his father and try his hand at acting. He had an appearance in the 1950's TV show 'Divorce Court' and made a Western film where he did his own stunts.
Tom joined the Air Force and was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base where he met his first wife, Rachel Seaton (nee Smith; d. 2017), an elementary school teacher. Tom learned early computing and data processing in the Air Force, skills that he leveraged into a career in his civilian life.
Tom married Rachel in 1963 and, after moving around Southern California, eventually settled in Bakersfield, CA, where they had two sons, Jeffery Thomas Seaton (b. 1967) and Gregory Stephen Seaton (b. 1969).
Tom raised his family in Bakersfield where he supported Jeff in acting and coached Greg in baseball and soccer.
Tom worked much of his professional life at Oilfields Trucking Company, as well as starting his own consulting company, Seaton Data Processing Services.
Tom enjoyed working and interacting with people, taking additional jobs delivering pizzas, couriering packages, and providing security at events and locations around Bakersfield.
Tom enjoyed conversing with anybody and he was genuinely interested in what they had to say, be it strangers in line at Walmart or close friends and family.
Tom enjoyed fishing and camping throughout his life. Tom also enjoyed watching sports, particularly football, golf, and baseball.
Tom later returned to acting in his 60's as an extra in commercials and movies, including the 1995 film 'The Girl in the Cadillac'.
After over 50 years of living in California, Tom wanted to spend his last days home in Fort Smith, Arkansas, his childhood home.
