Verneil Hixson

Verneil Hixson, 94, of Fort Smith passed away Wednesday, December 4th, 2013, under the care of Mercy Hospice. She was born February 11th, 1919 in Clarksville, AR to the late Ewell Willett and Carrie Riddle Willett. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church, the Aldersgate Sunday School Class and she worked at the Church in the office for several years. She worked 18 years for Sears Credit Department.

She was preceded in death by her husband Guy Hixson, three brothers Edward, Guy E. and Mansell Willett and a sister Earla Bucher.

Funeral service will be 2:00 Tuesday, December 10th, 2013, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with private burial at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

She is survived by two daughters Guyla Hardman and husband Louis of Helena, AR and Marsha Willis and husband J. P. of Fort Smith, one brother Bob Willett of Fort Smith, one sister Joanne Taylor of Clarksville, AR and three grandsons Chris Hardman of Cleveland, MS, Brad Hardman of Aspen CO and Jeff Willis of Fort Smith and two great grandsons Will and Matt Hardman of Cleveland, MS.

Mom asked that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 North 15th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901.
