Vidle Gene Wallis, 79, of Fort Smith, passed away May 20, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was born May 6, 1933 to the late Carl and Ruby Elkins Wallis in Stigler, OK. He was a fork lift operator for Gerber Products. He volunteered at RSVP, Midtown Senior Center and AARP. Vidle was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife Hilda of the home; a daughter, Lela Bell Wallis of Fort Smith; a sister, Carlene Mason; three brothers, Barber G Wallis of Higden, AR, Kennith Wallis of May, TX and N K Wallis of North Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his first wife Irabelle Wallis and his brother Grady Wallis.
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
