

Virgie Lee Sparks, 92 of Fort Smith passed away Monday, November 1, 2010 in Fort Smith. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a Homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis J. Sparks, Sr.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by three daughters: Marilyn Newman and her husband Jimmy of Van Buren, Sharon Coan and her husband Ken of Granbury, Texas, and Ginger Belmont of Fort Smith; two sons Lewis J. Sparks, Jr. and his wife Anne of Fort Smith, and Dr. David Sparks and his wife Mary of Jonesborough, Tennessee; a sister, Sue Shockley of St. Louis; seven grandchildren Dr. Jim Newman of Radford, Virginia, Wendy Newman of Hayhighra, Georgia, Dr. Cory Sparks of New Orleans, Jeff Newman of Corning, Arkansas, Michael Newman of Fort Smith, Alex Belmont of Fort Smith and Rob Sparks are Jonesborough, Tennessee and nine great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Jim Newman, Wendy Newman, Dr. Cory Sparks, Jeff Newman, Michael Newman, Alex Belmont, and Rob Sparks.
Memorials may be sent to Christ the King Catholic School 1918 South Greenwood Avenue, Ft. Smith, AR 72903.
