Virginia Mae Harmon

She grew up in Manila, Arkansas where she met the love of her life, Starling Harmon. She was a loving military wife, raising four beautiful children while traveling the world. She later owned a beauty shop in Wilson, Arkansas and continued her 30 year career as a beautician at Classic Beauty in Van Buren. She spent the remainder of her days retired, spending time with her family, reading, sewing, and enjoying time in her flower garden.

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust,’” (Psalm 91:1-2, NIV). She was a woman of strong faith, attending Summit Church in Fort Smith. She always trusted in God to protect her family and loved ones and will surely continue to do so even in her passing. She was a loving wife and an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grand mother, and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Starling Harmon and is survived by her children, Michael Harmon (Linda), Tina Rowsey (Jerry), Sherry Sartain (Steve) and Walker Harmon (Pamela); her grandchildren, Shawn Harmon, Lynnette Qualls, Heather Murphy, Heidi Carlisle, J.D. Rowsey, Ginette Hazard, Ethan Goble, Dylan Goble, Chris Harmon and Starr Harmon; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 24, 2017 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be J.D. Rowsey, Shawn Harmon, Ethan Goble, Dylan Goble, Matthew Harmon, and Christopher Harmon.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
