Virginia L Kennedy

Virginia was born in March of 1947 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Curtis Noel Lynn and Bertha Christine (Hamilton) Lynn. Virginia graduated from Hall High School in Little Rock. She graduated from Hendrix College with BA in Spanish and Masters Degree in Spanish from UCA in Conway. She taught in the Fort Smith School system for 37 years, 3 years at Darby Junior High School and Northside High School for 34 years. She received a Golden Apple from the Fort Smith Classroom Teachers Association, where she was Secretary for many years. Virginia was also an active and committed member of the Fort Smith community.

She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church and the Secretary for both Sebastian County Democratic Women and AARP Chapter in Fort Smith. Virginia is survived by husband, Larry of Fort Smith; son Greg, daughter-in-law Tegan, and grandson Del of Atlanta.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 11th from 3-5pm at Edwards Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 13th at 10 am at Goddard United Methodist Church, 1922 Dodson Fort Smith, AR, 72901. Face masks will be required. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery on State Line Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Goddard Food Pantry.
