Wanda Myers

Wanda was born on August 9, 1931, in Prague, OK to William and Edna Wiley. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, great-great Grammie, and friend. She was a homemaker and a Christian, for her love for God was evident in the way she loved and cared for others. Wanda married Andrew J Myers on October 31, 1949, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness for 40 years.

Wanda is remembered for her warm smile, generous spirit, and the special way she made everyone feel at home. Her kitchen was always open, as she was known for sharing a big pot of pinto beans, her Thanksgiving dressing, or a stove cooked hamburger…her signature meal on Fridays. Later in life, she enjoyed Western Sizzlin trips, and Thursday night Cavanaugh Pizza buffet with her kids. She enjoyed gardening, canning, flowers, soap operas, collecting clocks and candles, playing dominoes, Christmas bingo, and watching grandkids and great grandkids. Her stories and wisdom will be cherished forever by us all.

Wanda is survived by her children: James Odell Myers from Spiro, OK, John Myers (Sherrie) from Ft Smith, AR, Barbara Cassatt, and Wilma Myers, both from Arkoma, OK. Her grandchildren: Jimmy Myers (Amber), Angie Bailey (TJ), Nicole Johnson, Leanna May (Greg), Corinna Pribble (James), Sheila Overstreet, Debra Pratt, Sherry Boze, and Laura Emmons, 18 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is survived by 2 nephews, Steven Wiley (Kim) of Milltown, AR and Phillip Wiley (Brenda) of Hackett, AR, as well as a cousin, Freda Fisher. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J Myers, her parents, William and Edna Wiley, a daughter, Nina Pratt, and her brother and sister-in-law, William Leon and Janet Wiley.

A celebration of life will be held for Wanda on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM. Location of service is 201 North 12th Street, Fort Smith, AR.

Wanda will be laid to rest in the Fort Smith National Cemetery, 522 Garland Avenue, Ft Smith, AR. Services will be officiated by grandson, Jimmy Myers.

The Pallbearers are Phillip Wiley, Kenneth Morris, Logan Jackson, Landon Bailey, Sage Myers, and Gabe Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers are Steven Wiley, TJ Bailey, Dakota Lanham, and Eithan Lincks

Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories. We ask that you wear something floral in her honor, if able.

She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
