
Willene Cates,88, of Arkoma, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Arkoma and worked for Riverside, Oklahomer Smith, and Flyer Garment, where she was a supervisor. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Henry and Sarah Emma Blaylock Jones and her husband, Opie Cates, a sister, Estlene Smith and a brother, Tom Jones. Services will be 10am Friday, February 11th, at Woodlawn Memorial Park chapel. A general visitation will be held on Thursday, between the hours of 8am and 8pm, at Fentress Mortuary. Mrs. Cates is survived by her daughter, Emma Lou Gilkey, of Tulsa, OK, two sons, J.W. Yates and wife Lena, of Fort Smith and Roscoe Yates and wife Woolesta, of Arkoma; a step-son, Robert Cates and his wife Beverly; four step-daughters, Dixie Sorenson and her husband Jerry, Dinah McCord and her husband Bill, Linda Spradlin and her husband Buddy and Liza Holman; one sister, Pauline Morrow, of Tulsa, one brother, Waylon Jones and his wife Lois, of Roland. She also has six grandchildren, Justin Gilkey of Fort Collins, CO, Katina Eisenbeis of Denver, CO, Gary Yates of Fort Smith, Tim Yates of Arkoma, Todd Yates of Spiro, OK and Tammy Parker of Arkoma; eight great grandchildren, Alexandra Gilkey, Tate Gilkey, Sarah , Matthew, Jacob and Eli Yates, Brendan and Aiden Parker; 15 Step-grandchildren and 32 Step-great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Medi-Homes in Arkoma, the staff on the 6th floor west, at Sparks, and Dr. Jon M. Gustafson.
