William "Bill" Calvert

W. D. “Bill” Calvert, 69, of Fort Smith, died June 30, 2011 in Fort Smith. He was the CEO of Calvert-McBride Printing in Fort Smith. Bill was an Eagle Scout, and was instrumental in the development of the Rogers Scout Reservation and he also received the Silver Beaver Award. He was a Commissary Kiwanis member, active in the Antique Gas Engines Association, he was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors, and he was a Methodist. He was born January 21, 1942 in Fort Smith to Benjamin Dale and Katherine Heinrichs Calvert.

He is survived by his wife Carla Calvert of the Home; one daughter, Lynn Herring and husband Steven of Greenwood; one son, Bob Calvert and wife DeaAnn of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Katie Calvert, Ely Ernst, and Ella Ernst; one brother, J.C. Calvert and wife Sharon of Fort Smith; niece, Kitty Calvert of Fort Smith and nephew Dale Calvert of Muldrow, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, B. Dale Calvert and Kitty Heinrichs Calvert.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Services and Cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM.
