

William “Bill” Burke Kirk, 88, of Fort Smith passed away on December 10, 2016 in Fort Smith. He was born June 20, 1928 in Fort Smith to Frank Parks and Helene Burke Kirk. He was a retired employee of O.G. & E. where he served as Commercial Sales Manager. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club and Noon Civics Club and many other Community Committee’s and Boards. He was a Charter member of MOAA and was a member of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves, the U.S. Army Reserves, the American Legion and Q & Arkansas.
Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy A. Kirk of Fort Smith; three daughters, Karin Kirk of Conway, AR., Kathy Acox and husband Gary of Claremore, OK. and Lou Ann Filiatreau and husband Phil of Alexander, AR; one son, Brian Kirk and wife Dyleen of Katy, TX; one sister, Patricia Parks Townsend of Stuttgart, AR; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Rosary will be said on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 6:00 pm in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel and Mass will be said on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:30 am in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery of Fort Smith all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Louis Acox, Chris Acox, Austin Filiatreau, Thomas Filiatreau and Logan Kirk.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Caldarera, Eugene Ahlert, Charles Kuhl, Marvin Thomas, Charles Uerling, Bill Vines, Alpha Wiggins, Tom Wimberly, Larry Devero, Ed Newlin and Jim Gramlich.
The family will greet friends following the Rosary beginning at 6:30 pm in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
