William “Bill” Louis Weisenfels, 65, of Fort Smith passed from this life surrounded by family May 6, 2022. He was born October 3, 1956, in Fort Smith, to Martin Weisenfels and Carmelita Klein Weisenfels. Bill attended St. Anne’s Academy until it closed, then went on to graduate from Northside High School in 1975. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. Bill retired from OG&E after 26 years of service.
Bill is survived by his wife Nita; their son Mark James Weisenfels; brother Mike Weisenfels and his wife Charlotte; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan Post.
Funeral mass will be 10:00am Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Chruch. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 6:00pm Monday, May 9, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home, with the rosary following immediately at 6:00pm. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
