

Wilson D. Williams, 93 of Fort Smith passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 in a local Hospice Center. He was born January 14, 1917 in Coal Hill, Arkansas and was preceded in death by his wife, Regina. He is survived by one sister, Janis Woods of Clarksville, Arkansas; one son Frederick Leland Williams of Carrollton, Texas; one daughter, Phyllis Hearn of Mars Hill, North Carolina; one grandson Michael Clotfelter of Bella Vista, Arkansas and one great grandson Preston Clotfelter.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1935 to 1939 on the USS Utah. He reinlisted in 1944 and served on the USS Lavaca until the end of World War II. He worked for Sears Roebuck for 32 years and was an avid outdoorsman. After retirement, he built bluebird houses and placed them throughout the National Forest. He enjoyed a bountiful garden, canning, cooking and making prize winning wine.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial and Navy Honors to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. The Reverend Louis Dewett will officiate the services.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Weathers, Steve Weathers, Jim Hill, Al Caldwell, Rick Moore and Mike Moore. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dean Woods, Roger Redden, John Holloway, Don Yates, Bob Weathers, Hal Farnsworth, Thurman Moore and Mike Moore.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, November 22, 2010 at the funeral home.
