Albert "Bert" James Erskine

Albert "Bert" James Erskine, born on April 15, 1938, in Mount Vernon, New York, to the late Albert Sr. and Harriet Erskine, passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 87 in North Manchester, IN. He was a resident of Columbia City, Indiana.

Bert worked as a truck driver and loved the open road. After retirement, he spent time traveling with his wife Betty, enjoying the highways, back roads and byways to visit family in New Hampshire, Cape Cod, New York and Michigan. During his recent years, he loved to be taken "for a spin" in the car with friends and family.

Bert is survived by his children, Deb (Warren) Dixon, Karen (Charles) Reynolds, and Eric (Emily) Erskine; his step-children, Vicki (Stuart) Black, Mercedes Richardson, Mark (Michelle) Sturtevant, John (Heather) Sturtevant, Jamie (Sarah) Sturtevant; his grandchildren, Justin Erskine, Tess Erskine, Miles Dixon, Caitlyn Dixon, Sarah Brisendine, Andrew Juhasz, Jesse Dolsen, Andy Dolsen, Travis Dolsen, Alissa Sparkman, Ashley Sturtevant, Christian Sturtevant, Richard Richardson, Jennifer Jackson; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Erskine; his siblings, George K. Erskine, Gerald T. Erskine, Jane F. Erskine, and Jeanette Limato.

A private celebration of life for Bert will be at a later date.
