Albert L. Schwartz

Albert L. Schwartz, 87 passed away peacefully Wednesday January 12, 2022 at his home in New Haven IN. He was born May 27, 1934 in Milan Center, IN, the son of the late Samuel S and Leah L. (Delegrange) Schwartz. He graduated from Harlan High School in 1954. Albert started his construction business in 1958 and enjoyed a lifelong career, building and remodeling homes in the Fort Wayne area. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards with friends in his younger years. He was a loving father and spent many hours participating in Indian Guides and Boy Scouts. He built props for school plays and carnivals, and proudly supported his children in their sporting, choir and band activities. His grandchildren were also a big part of his life; he loved Grandparents Day and other school events. Family camping trips were a yearly tradition he greatly enjoyed. Albert was an active member of St. Peters Lutheran Church for over 60 years, serving as an Usher and Elder.

Albert is survived by his loving wife 63 years, Darlene Schwartz, children Gregory (Laurie) Schwartz, Shawn Kockensparger, Michelle (Rick) Quinn of Fort Wayne, IN; Kimberly (Jeff) Vereb of Avon, IN; 9 grandchildren, 3 great granddaughters, siblings, Samuel ( Lois) Schwartz , Rosa (Joe) Schwartz , Leah (Jake) Schwartz and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Victor, Henry, Noah, Elmer Schwartz, sisters Ruth Graber, Esther and Mae.

Funeral Service will be 1pm Friday January 21, 2022 at St. Peters Lutheran Church 7710 E. State Blvd Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday January 20, 2022 at D.O McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home 4017 Maplecrest Road Fort Wayne, IN.
