Alberta Scott

Alberta “Bert” Scott was born on June 29, 1948, in Sprott, Alabama, to the late Lee Curtis Turner and Clearethia (King) Turner. She departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Alberta was employed by Dana Corporation for 30 years before retiring in 2003. After retirement, she treasured spending time with her family and friends. Those years gave her more opportunities to enjoy the people who meant so much to her and to share in the everyday moments that brought her joy.

Alberta was a woman whose love was felt in the simple, meaningful moments that made a family feel like home. She was a devoted mother who treasured her children deeply. They were her pride and joy, and she always put them first. Her family was at the heart of her life, and the love she gave so freely became a lasting part of the lives of those around her.

Alberta’s character was reflected in the way she cared for the people she loved. Her strength, kindness, devotion, and presence brought comfort and connection to her family and friends. She leaves behind more than memories; she leaves a legacy of love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the generations that follow.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Curtis and Clearethia (King) Turner; five brothers, Howard King, James King, Eddie Turner, Emerson Turner, and Matthew Turner; and two sisters, Ernestine Terrell and Leila Hawkins.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Andrew L. Scott of Fort Wayne, Indiana; her daughter, Ebony M. Scott of Fishers, Indiana; her bonus son, Bryant Outlaw, her brother, Albert Turner and her sister, Sadie M. Turner all of Fort Wayne, Indiana; five grandchildren, Andrea Starks of Atlanta, Georgia, Eric Paschall of Chicago, Illinois, Ericka Paschall of Stockbridge, Georgia, Grace Simpson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Andrew Rogan of Fort Wayne, Indiana; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Though Alberta has departed this earthly life, the love she gave remains. Her children will carry her love in their hearts while her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will carry her legacy forward. Her earthly journey has come to an end, but the love she planted in the hearts of others will continue to live on. Alberta will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who were blessed to call her mother, grandmother, sister, family, and friend.

Visitation will be held at True Love Missionary Baptist Church, 715 E Wallace St, Fort Wayne, IN 46803, US, on September 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a Life Celebration beginning at 12:00 pm.

She will be laid to rest in Concordia Lutheran Gardens Cemetery immediately following the service.
