Aleks was born in Odessa, Ukraine to Valeriy and Valentina Bogun on September 24, 1991. Together with his family, he moved to Portland, Oregon in 1993 before finally settling in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2000. After graduating from Canterbury High School, he earned a degree in fine arts from Purdue Fort Wayne.
Aleks devoted his life to the appreciation of beauty. He enjoyed photography of his world travels, playing the cello, attending concerts, performing modern and contemporary dance, exploring nature, and practicing various forms of art, especially sculpture and ceramics in his home workshop. Above all, he enjoyed sharing this beauty with his beloved friends and family.
Aleks is survived by his loving parents, Valeriy and Valentina Bogun; his big sister, Anna (Bogun) Keske; his three brothers, Valentin, Dmitriy and Timothy Bogun; and his two nieces, Katherine and Sophia Keske, to whom he will always be known as the “favorite uncle.”
A private service will be held to honor Aleksandr. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all who supported Aleks throughout his life.
