ALICE A. ARMSTRONG, 88, passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Born Dec. 1, 1926, in South Whitley, Alice graduated from South Whitley High School in 1944 and went on to graduate from the Saint Joseph School of Nursing in 1948. She advanced her study in Pediatric Nursing at Children's National Hospital in Washington D.C. She working for Visiting Nurse, Red Cross Bloodmobile, W.I.C., and did Genetic Nursing before retiring. Surviving are her husband, Calvin Armstrong of Fort Wayne; son, Jeff Armstrong (Julia Armstrong); granddaughter Audrey Armstrong; and grandson, Graham Armstrong. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at Simpson United Methodist Church, 2501 S. Harrison St., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Erin's House or Simpson United Methodist Church.
