Alice M. Houlihan Shank

Alice M. Shank, 91, of Venice, FL and Fort Wayne, IN died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at her home. She was born December 17, 1918 in Fort Wayne to Joseph and Margaret (Palmer) Houlihan. She attended St. Patrick Grade School and St. Catherine Academy. On August 24, 1940 she married Howard T. Shank. He preceded her in death in 2002. They raised a family of seven children. She is survived by one son, Daniel Shank, of Fort Wayne, IN and four daughters, Sue (Paul) Wilkinson, of Syracuse, IN., Julie (Skip) Hanchar and Colleen (Steve) Corona of Fort Wayne and Molly (Jeffrey) Nagle of Valparaiso, IN. She was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy (1997) and Mark (1974). She is also survived by her brother, James Houlihan and sisters Mary Fishman, Sally Houlihan and Peggy Hipskind, all of Fort Wayne. She was grandmother to 19 children and great-grandmother to 12 children.

Funeral Mass is 1:00pm Friday, June 18 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2222 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, Fr. David Ruppert officiating. Viewing one hour prior to the Mass at church. There will be a luncheon served at the St. Therese Church Hall following the service. Private Burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 17, from 4-8pm at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Rd, Fort Wayne.
