Alvita Denise Goode, age 62, of Fort Wayne, Indiana peacefully entered her heavenly home on Sunday, September 13, 2020. She was born on June 25, 1958, in Richmond, VA, to Henry and Ethel Hicks, and lived in Fort Wayne for the past 30 years. She enjoyed loving on and caring for animals, attending her church (Oakridge Temple Church), watching game shows, and spending time with family. Survivors include her son, Michael (Marsha) Hicks of Fort Wayne, IN; and daughters Sherrell Goode and Josita Goode of Richmond, VA. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Tyler and Tori Howard of Fort Wayne, IN and Bless Powell of Richmond, VA. Also surviving are her brothers, Henry Hicks Jr., Wayne Hicks, Marvin Hicks, and Stanley Hicks; and her sisters Jackie Hall and Cassandra Balbosia. Alvita was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Goode Sr. and a son, Joseph Goode Jr.; as well as both of her parents; a brother, Roland Hicks; and a sister, Joyce Howard. Funeral service is Monday, September 28, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services Mungovan, 2114 S.
