AJ graduated from Bellmont High School in 1993 where she participated in basketball and cheerleading. In 1997 she had her first child, Austin, and later moved to Fort Wayne. Shortly after in 2000, she had her second child, Brooke. She wanted to stay home with her kids, which led to watching other children, and evolved to five daycare locations called AppleJacks. She successfully ran the daycare for 20 plus years. As a single mother, no challenge was too great and would do anything for her kids. In 2008, she bought her first Harley and successfully completed The Dragon's Tail in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. In the same year she met her significant other, Shane Wireman, and they have been together since. AJ loved planning trips for her family and put in every effort to make memories for them, specifically for her children's football, baseball, and cheerleading events. She had such a huge love for her two fur babies, Zoee and Maisie, even leaving a vacation early because she missed them. AJ was very active and attended Orange Theory's 9AM class five days a week. She also loved Chirstmas, gift giving, and spending time with friends and family during the holidays. Her most infamous traits were her smile, pink and white nails, her tan, and her strong personality.
AJ is survived by her children, Austin (Caelan McAbee) and Brooke Krider; significant other, Shane Wireman; parents, Rod and Teresa Simon; siblings, Craig (Michelle) Simon, Nicki (Phil) Lehrman, Heather (Ben) Melton, and Tyler (Erin Kirchner) Simon; and fur babies, Zoee and Maisie. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim & Roseanna Simon and Bing & Helen Johnson.
A celebration of life will be held from 6-10PM on Friday, July 16, 2021 at UAW Union Hall 2209, 5820 E. 900 N., Roanoke, Indiana 46783. Memorial donations may be made to the family or Allen County SPCA.
