

Andy was born on March 11, 1955 in Fort Wayne, IN. He graduated from North Side High School in 1973 and then served in the US Air Force from 1973 to 1977. Andy most recently worked as a groundskeeper for the Town House Retirement Home.
Andy was a great family man, who shared his faith and love deeply, and without reservation. He was extraordinarily friendly and touched all those he met with his generous personality and infectious smile- he knew no strangers. Andy was honored to serve as a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge731 and his involvement extended throughout the community with the Legion Riders Post 409 and Forest Park United Methodist Church. Andy took great pride in his volunteer work devoting 12 years to spreading the joy of the holiday season and teaching children the true meaning of Christmas, through Santa Claus – he believed.
Andy enjoyed his time with his beautiful wife and their 7 children. He shared his passion for music, loved using his hands and enjoyed time with his great many friends. His family and friends will remember him as a generous man, who could always bring a smile to your face and leave a lasting impression on your heart.
Andy is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Christina Federspiel, his children Jamie, Dawn and Crystal Federspiel; Misty (Carl) Gilbert; Todd (Heather) Love; Tiffani Goodpaster; Jenny (Michael) Hamm; 15 grand-children and siblings Carol (Russell) Lahr and Ernie Federspiel. He is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Tinney and father Leon Federspiel; his siblings Jerry and Sandy Federspiel, Jan McArdle and his grand-children, Alexiea and Spencer.
Viewings will be held on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-7pm, followed by a masonic service at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral will be held on Thursday at 11am at Forest Park United Methodist Church, 2100 Kentucky Ave, with calling 1 hour prior. Pastor Brenda Ginder will officiate. Memorials to Parkview Hospice.
