IN THE CARE OF
C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home
Anna M Baker, age 65, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023. Anna was born in Huntington, Indiana. Anna was a mother who found her pleasure and Joy in the presence of her children and grandchildren with good food, and wholesome fun and laughter with her family. When she was well she loved cooking for her children and calling them over for dinner. A few of her signature dinners we loved was her Goulash, Chili, fried pork chops mashed potatoes and gravy these were just a few of them but of course it was much more than just that, it was time she loved to spend with us all. Her Joy in life was seeing the people she cared about dearest happy, full of food, and healthy for their next adventure. Anna had a sincere and honest relationship with the Lord and that was expressed fully through her love, selflessness and true empathy towards those in need, even those who never knew they needed a kind hand. Let's not forget her coffee and cooking shows, thrift stores and her books, as well as her many trips to the woods with her children. She loved fishing with her son Michael and there was no one better to sink a line with than him. She loved long drives in the country with Tammy and the peace and spirituality it brought them both, went beyond the freedom of the road, it extended into the purposes of life, not limited to just enjoying a drive. When a gathering of family and friends was needed, Brandie would take the helm and provide the setting at which Anna could express the Joy and Love she had for all of her children and grandchildren together. Let’s not forget her enjoyment of sitting on the porch with a delicious cup of coffee with her daughter Brandie as they discussed the ins and outs of life. Strong would be an understatement of her character, yet simple could describe her as well and that’s just the way she liked it. She loved all her children dearly and most of all, she loved the Lord and she loved life.
Anna was proceeded in death by her Father William Bowers and Mother Gladys (Kenney) Bowers also her children’s Father Michael R. Baker and her Daughter Holly A. Baker. She has 3 living children Michael Baker, Tammy Barrett, Brandie Baker. 7 Grandchildren, Desiree Baker, Jason Barrett, Jonas Urban, Spencer Ridenour, Raelynn Baker, Taji Akinyemi, and Matthew Dunn 4 Great Grandchildren Ivy Newsome, Isabel Urban, Vera Tinney, Wayne Tinney.
