

Elder Anthony Marlon Brooks Sr., was 66 years of age when passed from this life peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Lutheran Hospital to be with his Lord and Savior. Anthony was born into this earthly life on March 4, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Alonzo and Ida Mae Brooks.
He accepted Christ early in life and completed his education while living in Chicago. Anthony served honorably in the United States Marine Corp. and was discharged in 1976. Anthony received his Associates Degree in Law Enforcement and worked many years for the Cook County Sheriff's Department and in hospital security.
On August 27, 1988 he married the love of his life, Elaine Carter while in Chicago. Anthony moved to Fort Wayne in June of 2021. He became a faithful member of Divine Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Pastors' Curtis & Ann White, III.
He leaves to cherish many memories and continue his legacy to his loving wife of 37 years, Elaine Brooks; seven sons, Anthony II (Tashanda), Alexander, Alonzo Brooks, Troy Carter (Denise), Andre' Brooks, Chris Carter (Janina Michel), Matt (Shanice) Brooks; daughters of his heart, Canya Young and Laticia Hale; six brothers, Robert Taylor, Jarvis, Vernon, Trent, Lorenzo and Wayne Brooks; three sisters, Shana Brown, Sandy and Linda Brooks; a host of grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews other relatives, church family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his sons, Andrew and Johnathan Brooks; a sister, Sharon "Sherry" Brooks; and recently this November, his father.
Anthony loved to preach. He really loved the Lord. He also enjoyed talking, writing poems, drawing, playing the guitar and keyboard.
He lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, warm smile, and unwavering positivity. Anthony touched the hearts of all who knew him and his presence will be deeply missed.
We will never forget one of his favorite sayings, "If it had not been for the Lord on my side..."
Rest on dear one, we loved you but, God loved you best.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 29, 2024 at the D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Foster Park 6301 Fairfield Avenue - Fort Wayne, IN 46807 with the Rev. Curtis White,III officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM.
