Anthony (Tony) James Harber, aged 49, passed away November 25, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital after a long complicated battle with multiple health issues. He is preceded in death by his father, Jacob J Harber, his mother Alice Marie (Chirstman) Harber both of Yoder IN and Sister Linda (Bill) Pera of Panorama City CA. He leaves behind his wife of almost 27 years, Jennifer Dawn (Hoover) Harber of Ft Wayne IN. Son Logan N Harber of Ft Wayne IN, daughter Delaney K (Jesse) LaRoe currently stationed at Ft Campbell KY, his sister Lois Prezbindowski of Yoder IN, as well as 4 nieces and a nephew plus their spouses. Tony was a graduate of Wayne High School, class of 1987. He proudly served in a Military Police unit with the US Army. While serving in the Army, he was stationed in New York, Alabama, and Panama Central America. He was honored to serve as a Dare Officer while station in Panama. He was a self-proclaimed fountain of “useless” knowledge when it came to the subjects of WWII, hand guns, Marvel Comics, and Cryptozoology, with Big Foot and Mothman as his top 2 to investigate. He loved to read and had a passion for the movie Jaws. Over the last several years, he was well known for his big smile, great hugs, as a safe spot to hang out at or a provider of a shot of Fireball to those who were lucky enough to call him friend. The Celebration Memorial of Tony’s life will be held Sunday February 10, 2019 at 2710 Nuttman Ave (Trax Reception Hall). Visitation is 4 pm to 5 pm, with the Celebration service at 5 pm with a meal served afterwards for any who would like to stay. Arrangements entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes.
