Arthur R. Welling

Arthur R. Welling, Jr., 60, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at home. Arthur grew up in New Haven, IN, the son of the late Arthur R. and Genevieve Disser Welling. He graduated from Bishop Luers High School, Xavier University and the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He had his own firm in Danville, IN, for many years and served briefly as a Deputy Hendricks County, IN Prosecutor before retiring to Fort Wayne in poor health. Art was a life-long auto enthusiast and enjoyed hunting. He also took pride in his cooking skills, honed while working in his father's Pancake House Restaurant while going to school. He is survived by his siblings, Marian Welling, Edward (Cindy), Robert (Gail), and Gen Welling of Fort Wayne and Beth (Preston) Proctor of Muncie, IN, and Kate (Don) Boyle of Mattituck, NY. Also surviving are eight nieces and nephews: Brian and Tom Boyle, Sara and Daniel Proctor, Jon (Megan) and Laura Welling, and Michael and Kathleen Welling, as well as his beloved dog, Biscuit. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, Friday, August 16, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave., with calling one hour prior. Fr. Daniel Whelan officiating. Calling also from 4:30 to 8:30 pm, Thursday August 15, at Klaehn Fahl Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne.
