My father was a great man.  I wish he had been able to talk to all of you better.  I miss him terribly.  You were all great to him and he was very loyal to you.  I am proud to be his child.

I am so sorry for your great loss and will be thinking of you and praying for you in the weeks and months ahead that you feel God's love and peace surrounding you and His healing touch upon your breaking heart.

I enjoyed my tenure as Mr. Klenke CNA at Bethlehem Woods. He will be greatly missed. Praying for the family.

The first time I met Carl was at the first Sketchbook performance I was in (1971!).  He always filmed (no videotape then) our faculty act and then played it for us at future Sketchbook parties -- usually at Stan's.  He and Kay were so much fun to be around.  I always enjoyed how much he loved the IU Hoosiers (just like I do) and the Kentucky Derby.  He was a good man.  He will be missed.

Things I will always remember about Carl:
His love of the study and discussion of history -- especially the Civil War Roundtable meetings.
His admiration for "Bobby" Knight and all things "Hoosier"!
We old-timers affectionately nicknamed Carl "Colonel Klenk", based on his time in the military and the "arch villain" from the old "Hogan's Heroes" TV show.
Carl was honest, forthright, and not afraid to express his opinions about school matters.
Carl was a true friend and valued colleague at New Haven Junior High/Middle School.

I was sorry to read about Carl's passing.  I worked with him for many years at New Haven Middle School as the school counselor.  I remember the many times he came into my office.  He always had a quiet sense of humor.  You have my prayers and sympathy in your loss.

So sorry for your loss. Carl was one of my favorite teachers in 1966 at New Haven. I remember his gentle giant presence and kindness most of all. Later in life I was his mailman in Pine Valley. May God bring comfort and peace to you all.

I was sorry to read of Carl's demise in the paper via the internet.  Carl was always a great competitor on the football field back in high school.  I'm sure that he instilled in his students the positive approach to life.  My deepest sympathy to the family and students for our loss.
