

Barbara Lou (Hoock) North, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Glenbrook Rehab and Nursing Center, Fort Wayne. She was born in Convoy, Ohio on August 30, 1930; she was a daughter of Marie (Shaner) Serrano, who preceded her in passing. She was a member of Waynedale United Methodist Church. She was also a past-president and women of the year at the Johnny Appleseed American Business Women’s Association, and she retired from American Van Lines. Barbara was well known for her love of animals and desires to help those less fortunate. Surviving family include her seven children, Cindy (Steve) Reuille, Kathy (Clayton) Didion, Cherry Gallogly, Jim (Laura) North all of Fort Wayne, Tom and Tim North both of Fort Worth, Texas, Teresa (Charles) Baumgartner-Middleton of Hamilton, IN; grandchildren, Kristi (Betty Jones) Reuille, Stephen Reuille, Missy (Doug) Hall, Lance (Kristina) Adams, Jenny Adams, JD (Keri) Didion, Clay (April) Didion, Laura Didion, Jonathan Gallogly, Natalie (Mike) Kubat, Michael Gallogly, Jacob (Kathryn) Gallogly, Sean North, Ben North, Jason North, Matthew (Christina) North, Marci (Nick) Diem, Miles (Shannon) North, Marshall (Molly) Baumgartner, Jim (Stacey) Baumgartner; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. She was also preceded in passing by her husband, John Arlen North in 2007, one grandchild, and step father, Joe Serrano. Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 3-7 pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or Waynedale United Methodist Church.
